Our Commitment to Sustainability
Protecting the oceans, beaches, and communities that make our surf camps possible.
At Bisa Surf, we believe that enjoying the ocean comes with a responsibility to protect it. We're committed to sustainable practices that minimize our environmental impact and support the local communities we call home.
Environmental Initiatives
Plastic-Free Operations
We've eliminated single-use plastics from all our camps. Guests receive reusable water bottles, and we provide filtered water stations. Our breakfast service uses biodegradable or reusable containers.
Beach Clean-Ups
We organize weekly beach clean-ups at all our locations, involving both staff and guests. In 2025, we removed over 2 tons of plastic and waste from our local beaches.
Sustainable Surf Equipment
We prioritize eco-friendly surfboards made from sustainable materials. Our soft-top boards are recyclable, and we're gradually transitioning to boards made from bio-resin.
Energy & Water Conservation
Solar panels provide a significant portion of our energy needs. We use energy-efficient appliances and LED lighting throughout. Water conservation measures include low-flow fixtures and rainwater harvesting.
Community Support
Local Employment
Over 90% of our staff are local residents. We provide competitive wages, training, and opportunities for career advancement. Many of our surf instructors started as local surfers who we trained and certified.
Supporting Local Businesses
We source food and supplies from local vendors whenever possible, supporting the local economy and reducing transportation emissions.
Education Programs
We sponsor surf lessons for local children and support ocean conservation education in nearby schools. Our goal is to inspire the next generation of ocean protectors.
Ocean Conservation
Coral Reef Protection
We educate guests about reef-safe practices and only use reef-safe sunscreen. We support local coral restoration projects through donations and volunteer work.
Marine Life Respect
Our guides teach proper etiquette for surf spots, including respecting marine habitats and keeping a safe distance from wildlife.
Continuous Improvement
Sustainability is a journey, not a destination. We regularly review our practices, set new goals, and invest in innovations that reduce our environmental footprint. We welcome feedback and suggestions from our guests on how we can do better.
